There was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat, written by Lucille Colandro, is a Halloween version of the traditional rhyme “There was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly.” In this story, the little old lady has an appetite for a bat, a cat, a ghost, a goblin, bones, and finally a wizard! The fanciful illustrations are simply delightful.
